A Solid weekend for Moto Rapido at Oulton Park.

A Solid weekend for Moto Rapido at Oulton Park.

Below is the race report courtesy of Moto Rapido Ducati.

The weekend brought us so good points leading into the TT break putting us 12th in the championship.

John had great Race pace lap times all weekend throughout practice, consistently running 1:35.00 knowing he had plenty to give for the Qualifying but John made a little mistake and only equalled his existing lap time which cost him the great starting position we were hoping for meaning a P12(row4) start.

John finished race one in P14 after battling with a bad tyre. After analysing some of the data we were lucky to have completed the race as the rear wheel was doing a lot more work than the front, we put this down to a bad batch as we had a similar incident in practice.

Race two saw John start from P11 despite the rogue tyre problem from race one. He run a good race and stayed with the leading pack until the final stages of the race where we finished P9.

Were happy to come away from Oulton with some points in the bag but we are hunting for that podium position at Knockhill to see John  elevate to the Showdown top 6.

Young Thomas continues to impress the team with his attitude and riding of the Moto3, he topped the leader board all throughout practice and qualifying and we were certain he could finish on that top spot for the race but he didn’t make the best of starts and lost out to Max Cook finishing 2nd .

We continue to progress and develop with Thomas and the machine, always looking forward to the next race and he is so very hungry for that first place finish.

With our satellite team of 959 Ducati’s in the Tri options cup we had more success with Joe Collier winning both races and smashing the lap record, huge thanks to Sprint Filter for supplying us with some good filters for the weekend.

We next venture out for the official BSB one day test at Snetterton on the 7th of June just a week before heading to Knockhill in Scotland on the 16th-18th of June, Matco Tools home round.
